La Violetera

Tradition and care for the future

B Corp Journey and ESG Strategy

La Violetera is a company from Paraná in the food sector that has been present on the Brazilian table for over 90 years, providing flavors and textures from the most traditional origins, operating in the segments of olives, dried fruits and snacks, olive oils and oils, preserves and condiments, pasta and atomatados.

The imported products are processed and distributed from its 20,000 square meter plant, located in the Industrial City of Curitiba, from where they are sold throughout the country.

Tradition, trust, quality and flavor make La Violetera a reference in food throughout the country.

How we helped

In 2021, La Violetera decided to align its operations with sustainability best practices and the values of the global B Corp movement.

The company’s leaders aimed to generate value for stakeholders, going beyond the boundaries of its operations. This value would range from the structuring of governance to the management of its network of relationships, such as suppliers, employees, customers, consumers and others.

Our journey together began in 2021 where we carried out the company’s ESG maturity diagnosis. In order to map the main points of action of the company, we filled out the impact assessment platform of System B.

After the diagnosis, we developed the company’s ESG Strategy, a framework that consolidates the Aspirational Impact, Strategic Objectives, Result Indicators and SDGs. In addition, documents were updated, such as the Code of Ethics and others were developed, such as the Social Responsibility policy and the Supplier Code of Conduct.

We also work to guide and develop employees and leaders for the same purpose. Training was provided on ESG, B Certification, B Company Culture and B Leadership development.

Our work continued for another year and in 2022, the first stakeholder management was carried out to identify and define material topics. Through the interviews we also identified quantitative information, to build the Materiality Matrix. The prioritized material themes were added to the ESG Strategy.

In addition, still in 2022, we structured the corporate volunteering program, internal diversity and inclusion committee, application of the diversity census, mapping of active customers for satisfaction management, improvement of the socio-environmental assessment of suppliers and target plan for ESG actions.

In 2023, we move on to a new phase, focused on improving social and environmental indicators and actions, brand positioning and engagement, and leadership development.

Our main objective is to show the market the company’s good practices and for this reason, we prepared a Sustainability Report for 2022.

Aiming to improve actions, a new action plan was built for the Environment pillar to give robustness to the previously established strategy. Also following the focus of this year, the company will develop its leaders through our Regenerative Leadership training for ESG.
