How we helped

In 2021, Laguna Group decided to align its operations with the best sustainability practices and the values of the global B Corporations movement.

While building its impact strategy, it was decided to act from the inside out. The priority, then, was the internal impact: continuous processes, training and education, a more accurate look at employees, stakeholders and customers.

The first challenge was to work with the board and leadership to create an open space of trust and non-violent communication where constructive internal conflicts could be opened up. Another challenge for the company was to work on the concept of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, adapting its practices to this model.

The development and communication of the impact strategy was also carried out, so some documents were revisited and updated, such as the Code of Ethics, certifications and Supplier Management, in addition, new programs were developed, such as Corporate Volunteering.

To support the decision-making of the action plan, the Materiality Matrix was prepared and the ESG Strategy was included in next year’s strategic planning. The completion of the B certification assessment platform began to be carried out, and from this, the main points of action were identified. It was observed that it was necessary to guide the body of employees and leadership for the same purpose, so time was invested in training and training, these were: ESG, Certification B, Culture B, and Leadership B.

In 2023, Laguna went through the official B Certification audit process and obtained the B Company seal.

Main results:

  • With the support and knowledge of We.Flow’s technical staff, the Laguna Group achieved B Company certification in 2023, it was 5 months of work with a lot of commitment and dedication. This achievement was only possible after implementing the Action Plan developed by the consultancy, in 2021 and 2022.
  • We carried out the structuring and implementation of the Corporate Volunteering Program and the formation of the Volunteering Committee in 2022 and in 2023 we inaugurated the internal Social Reforms project.
  • Within the social field, Laguna had the desire to promote an Impact Program with the community around the work, from this, the Flumen Coalition was created. Partnership with other companies to finance programs in the areas surrounding the projects, aligned with the volunteer program. Today, through a social organization, two training programs are taking place in Vila Bom Menino: a project aimed at training women in the community and another that supports young people in the school break. We.Flow monitors project performance and ensures that the project is running as it should and that it is generating positive impact.
  • B leadership training with a focus on expanding the impact generated also in people management.
